#InterviewtheLeader
“Making people laugh is a magic. If you have the humility, you can do anything in comedy”. Focusing more on comedy, the team of The Rising Bharat experienced a hearty laugh during the interview as well.

Making our Bharat proud, Papa CJ, the exceptionally talented and proficient global comedian has won awards for both India’s and Asia’s best stand-up comedian. The humorous journey began when after visiting Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2004, he gave up his corporate career and started performing stand-up comedy in November of the same year. He is the first Indian comedian to be invited to premiere at the prestigious Soho Theatre in London, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Just for Laughs Festival in London, and the Sydney and Perth Comedy festivals in Australia. The name “Papa CJ” has a mystery which will be revealed in the book “Naked” to be released next year.

His jocular personality has got him global recognition. He represented India at the Shared History Festival in South Africa and had standing ovations on Broadway in New York. He was the first Indian comedian to be invited to premiere at the prestigious Soho Theatre in London, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Just for Laughs Festival in London, and the Sydney and Perth Comedy festivals in Australia. The list of his achievements is never-ending. But not to forget this, he is the only Indian comedian to have shot his own solo special with Comedy Central Asia. Besides these, he holds an MBA from Oxford University. He believes that education never goes waste and his learnings have been very helpful in his career as a comedian.

“The Papa CJ Happiness Project” is the recently launched initiative where he spreads laughter and happiness for free across the world through his performances. Inspired by Russell Peters, this prodigy has set a benchmark for all the budding Indian comedians and is truly a source of inspiration for them.
